What format of source video do you take?

Video sources can be Video8, Digital8, MiniDV, VHS or VHS-C.  Please send email to info@mydirectorscut.com or call (650) 328-4336 if you have other video formats.

How long does it take to process my order?

For most orders, it takes 5 business days from the time we receive your tapes to complete your order. If your order requires editing, or if you have a large number of videotapes, it will take up to 10 business days.  Additional DVD copies of a previous order are shipped the next business day.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa and Mastercard for on-line and phone orders.  If you come to our studio, we will also accept cash and checks.

Do you accept video tapes from international customers for editing?

We currently only accept video tapes from U.S. and Canadian customers.

Do you accept orders for additional DVD copies for international customers?

Yes, we ship DVD copies internationally.  If we have produced a DVD for you, you can order extra copies for your overseas friends and family, or they can order copies directly through your web share page.

Can you transfer video tapes that are in PAL or other foreign format?

Yes, please send email to info@mydirectorscut.com or call (650) 328-4336 for price quotes.

Do you produce DVDs in foreign format for other countries?

We currently only produce DVDs in NTSC format.  However, Multi-system players are very common in other countries.  Your friends and family in other countries may very likely be able to view U.S. NTSC format DVDs.

What is JazClip^TM?

A JazClip^TM is a captivating condensed clip of your video that is about 3 minutes long.  Our editing professionals select the best video sequences and add background music that fits the mood of the content.  The result is a dazzling piece of video that tells a concise and coherent story.  The JazClip^TM will be included in your DVD if you order the web-sharing option.  You will also be able to share it on the internet with friends and family.

How long do my video clips stay online?

Your JazClips will be available for viewing online for 30 days.  If you would like to extend your web-sharing period, please contact us at order@mydirectorscut.com or call us at (650) 328-4336. 

Will I still be able to order extra copies online after the web-sharing period is over?

Yes, even after the web-sharing period is over, you can still order extra copies of your DVDs online.  A list of your movies will be kept in your account indefinitely.  You can also send email to order@mydirectorscut.com or call (650) 328-4336 to order extra copies.

Why do I have to register and login?

You don't have to register and login to place orders.  Your account is used for you to web-share your video clips with your friends and family.  If you requested a JazClip with your order and don't have an account, one will be created for you, and you will be given instructions on how to access it.

Can I make copies of the DVDs that are produced by My Director's Cut?

No, our work is protected by copyright.  However, we do provide a low cost option for you to obtain additional copies of your DVDs.  We only charge a fraction of what other studios charge for additional copies.  We archive all the DVDs that we produce so you can order additional copies at anytime.
